I'm finished (sort of)!
Celebrating handing in my graphic novel
I handed in my graphic novel to my publisher this week! Since it’s always a little anticlimactic to do something this big by just hitting “send” on my email, I like to take a photo of all the art to capture the sheer quantity of 240 watercolored graphic novel pages:
I’ve also become a big believer in celebrating and marking achievement hence the week of rest and celebration I have planned:
Having a weekend away scheduled also kept me on track for reaching my deadline. I didn’t want to miss my fun weekend away so I was “dead on deadline” as my editor said.
Of course, the project isn’t actually done. Next up will be creating the cover art. And then end matter (the pages at the end of the book) and whatever edits my publisher has. But still, I’m very close to being done so it’s time to celebrate!
What do you like to do to celebrate or mark finishing a big project?

Leif also had a finish of his own—his first orienteering race. He and my spouse trekked through a state park on a mission to find various markers with only a map and compass. They both had a blast crossing through fields and brambles!

congratulations that is an amazing effort.
Can’t wait to read it!
