One-on-One Comics & Graphic Novel Coaching
If you’re working on a comic or graphic novel and feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward, you’re not alone!
Long-form comics are demanding—creatively and emotionally—and many artists struggle not because they lack talent, but because they’re trying to do everything by themselves.
I offer one-on-one comics coaching to support you with clarity, feedback, and steady momentum as you work on stories that matter to you.
This might be a good fit if you want to:
Start or finish a graphic novel or graphic memoir with a clearer sense of direction
Get unstuck and build momentum, instead of endlessly reworking the same pages
Strengthen story, structure, or art, with comics-specific feedback
Understand the publishing path, from pitching to agents and publishers
Feel supported and less alone, while working on a long-term creative project

A bit about me
I’m K. Woodman-Maynard (you can call me Katharine), a graphic novelist and artist with over fifteen years of experience making comics.
I’m the creator of graphic novel adaptations of The Great Gatsby (Candlewick Press) and best-selling Tuck Everlasting (Macmillan). I’ve worked in comics, design, and animation, and I’ve lectured on comics at many institutions including RISD, the Center for Cartoon Studies, and Princeton University.
I’ve mentored cartoonists through programs like the Sequential Artist Workshop and Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and I care deeply about helping artists make work that feels honest and sustainable.
I know how challenging long-form comics can be–and how much easier it is to keep going when you don’t have to do it alone.
