I LOVE this! I have a dopamenu…but maybe I’ll do a version of it as a joy bingo and add a gamified element to it:) also, because I don’t really understand how Substack works yet and because I’m afraid I’ll forget this intention as soon as I post this comment, I shall *also* restock this post as a note! …because I’ll come back to my notes later, right 🧐
I learned about dopamenu from Jessica Mccabe’s HowtoADHD YouTube channel! It’s been helpful in keeping me motivated and on track:) I also set up a “dopashop” for myself (aka small to mediums items I get to “unlock” - aka purchase or unwrap/use), after I achieve a certain goal. Kinda like in video games! But IRL. Helps with my tendency towards immediate gratification
I also prefer the contour drawing! There’s an appealing looseness to it that captures your cozy, festive space! I need to try out that technique. Happy new year! ❤️
It was great. We had a great time and have things that are simple yet fun on it like have fish and chips for lunch together I a local park. Thanks for the idea.
A must on my bingo card would be a full day where I just relaxed in the warmth of a sunny window or warm fire, free of shoulds or musts. On such a day, everything else can wait until tomorrow.
I love this idea and am tinkering with what to include on my bingo card. Focussing on the positive reminds me of gratitude lists, except that the bingo items are visualizing future experiences.
Joy bingo! what a great idea!!! My husband and I joke about checking things we see on our bike rides off on the bingo cards, but we've never actually made cards.
And please elaborate - you have both "See a Movie" and "See a Film" - which I also feel like those are different things, but curious how you dice it up.
Thanks also for sharing your artwork! Happy New Year and belated Happy Birthday!
ha! yeah that's how I classify them (movie vs. film) too. one thing and another I don't go to the theater much, but when I do I'm reminded how great it is to see something on the big screen. kinda partial to matinees, or waiting til something has been out for a while so the theater isn't crowded.
Happy (belated) birthday and happy New Year!!! Joy Bingo sounds like such a fun way to remind oneself of what’s important. I’d probably have “Visit a Used Bookstore” on my card. :) Love the watercolors in the third picture! ❤️

Thanks Linda! The idea of a dopamenu is new to me, but looking that up it sounds similar and fun too!

Thanks so much, Anna! Happy new year to you too!
I love the bingo. My wife and I are starting to think about ours now. Brilliant idea. Thank you
Thanks Jon! I hope you and your wife have fun with it!

I love those loose lines in the third picture—so joyful!
Thanks Cara! I wish there was a way to work so loosely with my graphic novels too.

That sounds pretty fantastic, Mike!

Thanks Jen! I can see the connection to gratitude lists too. ❤️

Thanks Megan! Seeing a movie is something more mainstream while see a film is something more indie or art house. I enjoy both, especially in theatres!

Love the art - esp that last, loose one! Inspiring Bingo game for 2025 <3
Thank you, Amy!
